About Pet Math Calculators

Last updated June 9, 2026

Pet numbers get repeated until they sound like facts: multiply the age by seven, feed a cup twice a day. The calculators on this site go back to published sources instead — the 2019 epigenetic-clock research behind modern dog-age math, veterinary feeding guidance, breed-size growth data — and cite them on the page.

For the dogs (and cats)

6 calculators so far: Dog Age Calculator, Cat Age Calculator, Dog Food Calculator, Puppy Weight Calculator, Cat Food Calculator, and Dog Water Intake Calculator.

Sourced, with caveats attached

The dog-age page shows the 16 × ln(age) + 31 formula and is upfront that the study behind it used a single breed. Feeding amounts come from veterinary calorie guidance, not pet-food marketing, and each page says which source it used. Where the science is thin, the page says that too.

Your vet outranks any calculator

Nothing here is veterinary advice — feeding, weight, and age figures are general estimates; your vet knows your animal.

Correct the record

If a cited figure here is out of date or misread, email corrections@petmathcalc.com — sources get re-pulled and the page updated.
